HelloWork builds next generation Talent Operations practices and helps companies build teams. We're looking for an AI Engineer to join one of our client teams in one of the nordic capitals Stockholm, Helsinki or Norway.

You'll be building AI systems that actually work in production – not just demos or proof-of-concepts. This means taking cutting-edge AI research and turning it into reliable, scalable systems that solve real business problems. You'll work directly with users to understand their needs and ship AI features that make their work genuinely easier.

What you'll do

‍

• Build production AI systems that process and analyze large datasets in real-time (customer interactions, documents, behavioral data, etc.)

• Design and implement RAG pipelines using vector databases and embeddings to create intelligent search and recommendation systems

• Develop custom AI workflows that automate complex business processes – like automatically categorizing support tickets, extracting insights from sales calls, or generating personalized content

• Fine-tune and deploy large language models for specific use cases, optimizing for both performance and cost

• Create AI-powered APIs and microservices that other teams can integrate into their applications

• Build evaluation frameworks to measure AI system performance and catch regressions before they reach users

• Work directly with customers to understand their pain points and iterate on AI solutions based on real feedback

• Optimize AI inference pipelines for speed and cost – turning 30-second processes into sub-second responses

• Implement monitoring and observability for AI systems to track model drift, performance degradation, and usage patterns

What we're looking for

‍

• 4+ years of experience building and deploying machine learning systems in commercial production environments

• You’ve built things from scratch and owned projects end-to-end

• Strong Python programming skills with experience in ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face Transformers)

• Hands-on experience with large language models – you've built something with GPT, Claude, or open-source models beyond just API calls

• Experience with vector databases and building RAG systems that actually work well

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization for deploying AI services at scale

• Understanding of both the capabilities and limitations of current AI technology – you know when to use AI and when not to

• Ability to work directly with non-technical stakeholders to understand requirements and explain AI capabilities in plain language

• Experience with data engineering – cleaning messy data, building pipelines, and working with APIs to gather training data

• Experience with fine-tuning models for specific domains or tasks

• Experience with real-time AI systems and streaming data processing

• Background in natural language processing, computer vision, or recommendation systems

• Understanding of AI safety, bias detection, and responsible AI development practices

• Experience with distributed training and serving large models efficiently

• Knowledge of prompt engineering and optimization techniques for better model performance
